Artist Statement
I believe my paintings emphasize color, light, and mood in a blend of Realism and Impressionism. I began working with pastels 50 years ago, when I took lessons from a woman in the neighborhood. I moved on to oils, then put down my paints to follow a
career as a music and reading teacher, as well as raise my family. In the early Nineties, I lived in Arizona and loved all the art fairs. Attracted to soft pastels, which we didn’t have back in the Sixties, I picked them up, along with photography. My photos began to sell, then my paintings. Now my work has found its way into homes and businesses across the country and around the world.
